Is $1,600 really the whole legal fee?

Yes, for a standard purchase. It’s fixed and includes GST. If your purchase needs extra work, it has its own fixed price and we tell you first. Full cost schedule.

When exactly do I pay?

On settlement day. Our fee, your searches and settlement costs are paid as part of your settlement figures. Nothing to get started, nothing while we work.

Why are searches and ID checks estimates?

Councils, water authorities, government departments and the identity check provider set them, and they vary by property. We confirm the exact figures as soon as we order them. The PEXA settlement fee is a flat $151.

Would another conveyancer be cheaper on searches?

Not meaningfully. Every conveyancer has to order the same certificates and pass on the same provider fees. The real difference is the legal fee, and ours is fixed.

What isn’t included?

Stamp duty, land registry fees and your lender’s costs. They’re paid to the government or your bank. Our stamp duty calculator gives you that number in a minute.

How fast is the free contract review?

A lawyer reviews your Contract of Sale and Section 32 within 4 business hours. Send it before 2pm and it’s back the same business day.

All prices include GST. Search and identity check costs are estimates and depend on your property. The PEXA settlement fee is $151. Conveyancing is provided by Prepared Legal Services Pty Ltd for residential property in Victoria. Level 1, 33 Cremorne Street, Cremorne VIC 3121.
